My friend Hughlene grew up in the coloured community in Cape Town, South Africa during the Apartheid regime. 16 years ago she moved to Germany and therefore has a good view on both worlds. For a long time I was curious about many SA topics that were hard for me to understand with my German outside view, so I’m happy Hughlene could shed some light on topics like – How did it feel to grow up under Apartheid laws? – What is this artificial „ethnic group“ called Coloured? – How racist does Germany feel for her today? – living in two worlds and many more.
I’ve had the pleasure of sitting down with Guy English (Canada). He’s known in the Tech scene for his podcast ‚Debug‘ with Rene Ritchie (iMore) and his programming work, mostly on iOS and macOS. I’ve always liked his friendly, yet witty and opinionated way of discussing tech, culture and politics.
